Special Education and Speech Therapy Services

The Special Educator at the Hospital works on identifying, diagnosing, and treating cognitive disorders in children (perception, thinking, memory, learning, and reasoning disorders), as well as psychomotor disorders — characteristic of certain syndromes and conditions accompanied by motor and mental deficits. Within this context, the Special Educator works on the habilitation, rehabilitation and education of children with cerebral palsy, as well as other developmental and neurological disorders.

The Special Educator plans and organizes special education treatment based on the assessment of the disorder, depending on whether it involves praxis disorders, motor debilitation, developmental discord disorders, intellectual insufficiency, etc.

Special education treatments are realized through various special education procedures while working with children:

Through educational procedures, the Special Educator also organizes and conducts certain forms of occupational therapy, at the Day Hospital, for adults using our services.

The Special Educator is a member of the Hospital’s professional team and, in addition to the above, participates in preparing special education reports and advisory work.

The Speech Therapist at the Hospital focuses on the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of speech and language disorders in children with cerebral palsy and other developmental and neurological disorders.

The Speech Therapist advises parents (guardians) on working with patients outside the Hospital.

The Speech Therapist uses various diagnostic tests, educational kits and speech therapy devices during his work.

The Speech Therapist is a member of the Hospital’s professional team and participates in preparing professional reports.
