Medical Examination
During the first examination, the physician gathers information from the parents (the mother’s condition during pregnancy, information regarding birth and risk factors at birth), they observe the child’s spontaneous behavior, examine muscle tone and reflexes, perform postural reactions which are a very sensitive indicator of the central nervous system’s function; they assess the child’s functional and motor status, set a diagnosis and determine the necessary treatments for the child. Follow–up examinations enable continuous monitoring of the child’s psychomotor development.
