Outpatient Polyclinic Department
The following services are provided by the Outpatient Polyclinic Department:
- Specialist medical examinations (Physiatrist, Pediatric Neurologist, Pediatrician), triage, diagnostics, and neurodevelopmental and re/habilitation treatment;
- Consultations with other specialists: Preventive and Pediatric Dentistry Specialist, Pediatric Surgery and Orthopedics Specialist, Radiology Specialist, Clinical Pharmacology Specialist;
- Physicians work according to a set schedule, with prior appointment scheduling;
- Diagnostic procedures: ultrasound diagnostics (ultrasound examination of the central nervous system and hips), electroencephalography (EEG);
- Outpatient clinical examinations and consultations with psychologists, speech therapists, special educators, social workers;
- Multidisciplinary assessment, application and adaptation of orthopedic aids;
- Monitoring the psychomotor development of infants with a history of and/or symptomatic risky development, referred from developmental counseling centers;
- Therapeutic treatment of all types of therapeutic approaches such as: kinesiotherapy, electrotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, psychological, social, and other treatments which are conducted at the Special Hospital.
Inpatient Service for Habilitation and Rehabilitation Treatment of Children Aged 7 to 18 (Inpatient Department A)
- Plans the admission, program, and process of habilitation, rehabilitation, as well as patient education for children aged 7 to 18;
- Monitors the health condition of patients, treats intercurrent illnesses and acts as an isolation facility when needed;
- Oversees the therapeutic treatment, evaluates achieved results and ensures a multidisciplinary assessment;
- Schedules consultations with specialists and diagnostic procedures;
- Prescribes, receives and controls orthopedic aids;
- Continuously provides all types of therapeutic procedures which are available at the Hospital;
- Provides educational and pedagogical activities for school– and preschool–age children in cooperation with schools: Miodrag Matić Elementary School for Children with Cerebral Palsy and Dr Dragan Hercog Elementary School;
- Provides occupational and recreational activities for patients during their free time.
Inpatient Service for Habilitation and Rehabilitation Treatment of Children Aged 1 to 7 (Inpatient Department B)
- Plans the admission, program and rehabilitation/habilitation process for patients aged 1 to 7;
- Plans the admission of accompanying mothers in order to educate them in performing the therapeutic measures with their children at home;
- Monitors the health condition of patients, treats intercurrent illnesses and acts as an isolation facility when needed;
- Schedules consultations with specialists and diagnostic procedures;
- Oversees the therapeutic treatment, evaluates achieved results and ensures a multidisciplinary assessment;
- Prescribes, receives and controls orthopedic aids;
- Continuously provides all types of therapeutic procedures which are available within the Hospital;
- Cooperates with counseling centers regarding early detection of cerebral palsy and monitors children at risk, aiming for early detection and providing early treatment for cerebral palsy and other neurological conditions.
